WellSpring Resources Holds Grand Opening & Ribbon Cutting

WellSpring Resources, formerly known as Community Counseling Center, hosted its open house and ribbon cutting on June 9, at its new location at 2615 Edwards Street in Alton. Pictured is Karen Sopronyi-Tompkins cutting the ribbon along with members of her staff, board members, judges, legislators, Alton mayor, as well as other significant project members. There were several NAMI members in attendance also.

The event offered an interactive tour throughout the facility and featured musical performances by the Alton Youth Symphony Chamber Group as well as the Alton High School Chamber Orchestra.

The new $7 million dollar facility was one of the first projects in Southern Illinois to take advantage of the federal New Markets Tax Credits and also one of the first in Illinois to access the Illinois New Markets Tax Credit Program. The organization invested $2.5 million of its own equity, as well as received assistance from the Madison County Government with a first-of-its kind HUD 108 loan for the project.

WellSpring serves over 3,000 adults, children, couples and families each year and is nationally recognized as a leader in recovery.

WellSpring Resources • Letter To NAMISWI

Dear Community Partner:

Community Counseling Center has changed its name to WellSpring Resources. We chose this new name for many reasons, but mostly because it is more in line with whom we want to be – the leaders in promoting mental wellness and personal growth.

WellSpring helps people to be well both physically and emotionally. Our services are provided by skilled, competent staff and focus on helping people grow and become their best selves. We now accept many different types of insurance, and we provide Employee Assistance Programs to area employers. WellSpring is a total mental wellness resource available right here in your community.

Our name is changing, but everything you‘ve always known about us isn‘t – we have the same phone numbers, the same staff, and our work won‘t change. We will offer new services and hope to reach new people. Someday, we hope that getting counseling will be as common place as going to the dentist or doctor.

We hope you like our new name, and will continue to grow with us. From here, it all changes.

PLEASE NOTE: Our e-mail addresses have changed also to reflect our new name. (Yes, it really does end in .co not .com!)
